Not yet in effect

This page describes how the platform works today, so it is accurate about the mechanics, but it is not final and does not form an agreement between you and Market Enginuity.

If you are sponsoring with us before this is finalized and you have a question about any of it, contact us and we will answer directly.

Market Enginuity operates Sponsor Public Media so that businesses and nonprofits can sponsor public radio without a sales call. This page describes what we collect when you do that, why we hold it, and which services handle it for us.

What we collect

You give us the following, and we hold it because a sponsorship cannot be scheduled or aired without it:

  • Your email address, which is how you sign in. We do not use passwords. We email you a one-time sign-in link instead.
  • Contact details for your sponsorship: the primary contact name, a phone number, and the contact email. Station staff need a way to reach you about your message.
  • Details about your organization or event, which is what the on-air message is written from: organization name, website, a description, what you want the sponsorship to accomplish, how to pronounce anything unusual, and anything else you add. For event sponsorships this also covers the event name, dates and times, location, and ticket link.
  • Your sponsorship itself: the stations you selected, how many messages per week and for how many weeks, the price, the on-air message you chose, and any notes you send when you ask our team to write the message for you.
  • Payment records. Your card number and security code are typed on a page hosted by Stripe and never reach us. Stripe reports the outcome back to us, and we store those reports, which include limited card information such as the brand and the last four digits.
  • Records of what happened. We keep a log of actions taken on your sponsorship, including which staff member reviewed it and when, along with records of the emails we sent you and whether they were delivered.

What we do not do

These are worth stating plainly, because they are common on other sites and are not true here:

  • We run no analytics or marketing trackers. There is no Google Analytics, no marketing pixel, no session recording, and no third-party measurement script anywhere on the site.
  • Our emails carry no open tracking and no click tracking. There is no invisible tracking image, and links go where they say they go rather than through a redirect that logs your click.
  • Our fonts are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not tell a font provider that you visited.
  • We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Cookies

The only cookies we set are the ones that keep you signed in after you click your sign-in link. They are necessary for the site to work; without them you would be signed out on every page. We do not set marketing or analytics cookies, which is why you are not seeing a cookie consent banner.

Services that handle your information for us

We use a small number of established providers rather than building everything ourselves. Each one only receives what it needs:

  • Stripe processes payments. Your card details go directly to Stripe, and we pass along your email address so your receipt reaches you.
  • Supabase hosts our database and the sign-in system, so it holds the information described above.
  • Postmark delivers our email. It receives your email address and the contents of the messages we send you.
  • Render runs the application, and Cloudflare sits in front of the site to serve it quickly and absorb malicious traffic.
  • Sentry receives automatic reports when something breaks. These are technical reports about the failure, and they can include details from the page or request where the error happened.
  • Our own copy generation service drafts suggested on-air wording from your organization and event details. Your contact name, phone number, and email address are not sent to it.

Who can see your sponsorship

You can see your own campaigns and no one else's. Station staff can see the sponsorships submitted in the market they administer, because someone there has to review and approve your message. That is scoped to the market rather than to the individual stations you selected, so where a market covers several stations, staff for that market can see your sponsorship even if it is not running on all of them. Market Enginuity administrators can see across markets in order to run the platform and support our partner stations.

How long we keep it

We keep sponsorship records, including the log of actions taken on them, as our record of what was agreed, aired, and paid. We do not currently delete them on a schedule.

If you want your information removed, write to us and we will tell you what we can remove and what we have to keep for accounting and broadcast records.
